My
Favorite
Ski
Destination:
Whistler
Blackcomb
Whistler
Blackcomb,
located
in
the
Canadian
province
of
British
Columbia,
is
one
of
the
largest
and
most
popular
ski
resorts
in
the
world.
The
resort
is
named
after
its
two
mountains,
Whistler
and
Blackcomb,
which
offer
skiers
and
snowboarders
a
total
of
8,171
skiable
acres
and
over
200
marked
runs.
I
have
been
fortunate
enough
to
visit
Whistler
Blackcomb
on
a
few
occasions,
and
it
never
fails
to
impress.
The
resort
truly
has
something
for
everyone,
from
beginners
to
advanced
skiers
and
snowboarders.
The
après
ski
scene
is
also
top-notch,
with
a
variety
of
restaurants
and
bars
to
choose
from.
One
of
the
things
I
love
most
about
Whistler
Blackcomb
is
the
sheer
size
of
the
resort.
Both
mountains
offer
a
variety
of
terrain,
ranging
from
gentle
beginner
runs
to
steep
and
challenging
black

The
resort
also
has
a
number
of
terrain
parks
for
those
who
want
to
practice
their
tricks
and
jumps.
Another
highlight
of
Whistler
Blackcomb
is
the
Peak
2
Peak
Gondola,
which
connects
the
two
mountains
and
offers
stunning
views
of
the
surrounding
peaks
and
valleys.
The
gondola
holds
the
world
record
for
the
longest
unsupported
span
between
two
cable
car
towers,
at
3.024
kilometres.
But
perhaps
my
favorite
part
of
visiting
Whistler
Blackcomb
is
the
incredible
snow.
The
resort
gets
an
average
of
11.7
metres
of
snow
each
year,
which
means
that
the
skiing
and
snowboarding
conditions
are
almost
always
excellent.
The
snow
is
also
quite
light
and
fluffy,
which
makes
for
some
incredible
powder
days.
Overall,
Whistler
Blackcomb
is
a
skier
and
snowboarder's
paradise.
The
resort
is
massive,
the
terrain
is
varied,
and
the
snow
is
unbeatable.
If
you're
looking
for
an
incredible
skiing
or
snowboarding
experience,
Whistler
Blackcomb
should
definitely
be
at
the
top
of
your
list.
